Laos awards National Gold Orders to senior Vietnamese leaders

VGP - On behalf of the Party and State of Laos, Vice President of Laos Bounthong Chitmany presented the National Gold Order – the highest distinction of Laos - to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue on the occasion of the 60th founding anniversary of of diplomatic relations and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos on July 18 in Ha Noi.

On this occasion, the first-class Issara of Laos was presented to 11 Vietnamese officials who are Politburo members and Secretaries of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee in the 13th tenure.

Addressing the ceremony, Bounthong Chitmany stressed that the noble awards represent the great contributions the  Vietnamese senior leaders has made to preserving, cultivating and strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Viet Nam.

In reply, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his sincere thanks to the Party and State of Laos.

He underlined that the awarded distinctions  is extremely important, encouraging the Vietnamese leaders to continue preserving and developing the unique and special relationship between the two parties, states and peoples.

The Party, State and people of Viet Nam are determined to constantly nurture the exemplary, faithful and pure relationship between the two countries, said the Prime Minister.

He added that the experience learnt from the previous struggles for national independence and freedom allow the two parties, states and peoples to continue to work together to weather all difficulties and challenges that may arise.

Viet Nam and Laos will also continue to support each other to build an independent and self-reliant economy, thus bringing a peaceful, prosperous and happy life to their peoples, and contributing to peace, stability and development in the region and the world at large./.
