VN, Cuba discuss COVID-19 vaccine production technology transfer
VGP – Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz said his country wishes to broaden cooperation with Viet Nam in various fields, including the transfer of COVID-19 vaccine production technology.

Cruz made the statement during his phone talks with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on July 1.
The Government and people of Cuba always treasure the solidarity, valuable assistance, and reform experience from Viet Nam, which have contributed to help Cuba overcome difficulties in its development process, affirmed Cruz.
PM Pham took the occasion to express his gratitude to the Cuban Government for sending medical experts and supplies to Viet Nam to contain the pandemic.
The Vietnamese Government leader congratulated Cuba on its positive results in research and development of COVID-19 vaccines, affirming that Viet Nam, in its capacity, always stands ready to support Cuba to ensure food security.
Despite geographical distance, Viet Nam always stands side by side with and supports Cuba in any circumstance, said Pham.
He also affirmed Viet Nam’s consistent and strong support for the United Nations General Assembly’s resolutions asking for an end of embargo against Cuba.
The PMs agreed to direct relevant ministries and agencies to share expertise and reach an agreement on the transfer of COVID-19 vaccine production technology from Cuba to Viet Nam.
They also agreed to support each other at international organizations and multilateral forums./.
